Blind Survival

Update date: Monday, 8 December, 2025 - 13:12
Game genre: Action, Shooting
Support platform: Microsoft Windows

Blind Survival is a thrilling audio-driven game that plunges you into a zombie outbreak on Gari Island during your summer vacation. Your sight won't help you here; instead, you must rely entirely on sound to navigate, explore, and find your missing friends. Designed with a classical First Person Shooter control scheme, the game can be intuitively played with a mouse and keyboard, keyboard only, or a gamepad.

Hundreds of hours have been dedicated to developing systems that enable seamless audio navigation. Interactable objects guide you with distinct sonar sounds, while environmental cues like the rush of a river lead you forward. Even facing a wall triggers a sound reminiscent of a blind person using a white cane, providing an auditory representation of obstacle detection.

Combat in Blind Survival is varied and immersive, allowing you to choose the approach best suited for the situation. Whether you prefer close-quarters melee combat, stealthy assassinations, or all-out gunfire, the game offers diverse options. You can even challenge yourself by deliberately attracting a dozen zombies with your loud gun for an adrenaline rush.

The game offers a range of content for endless replayability:

  • Story Mode: A short but impactful story that can be replayed in different gameplay styles for hours of memorable experiences.
  • Endless and Training: Two arcade-like modes where you face zombies coming in a circle behind you. Test how long you can last!
  • Tunnel and Scavenge: Keep walking as long as you can while an overwhelming number of zombies close in, making your limited ammunition increasingly valuable.
  • Bomb Defusal: A fast-paced minigame where you must memorize spoken sequences and input them quickly to defuse bombs, demanding both sharp memory and quick fingers.
  • Challenges: Clear as many unique challenges as possible to obtain "crystals" and prove your mastery.

Update 1.1 has arrived, introducing significant content expansions including a new story area, a challenging Hardcore mode, and various system refinements.

New Story Area:

  • A new path reveals itself after acquiring the second ranged weapon, leading to a mysterious building.
  • This expansion adds approximately 10 minutes of gameplay, features enhanced voice acting, and rewards players with a unique item upon completion.

Hardcore Mode:

  • Unlocked after clearing the story once or obtaining 20 achievement crystals.
  • Offers a distinct survival experience where ammunition is scarce, and melee combat is more intense.
  • Zombies now roam freely even when undetected and can sense the player if standing too close for too long.
  • Exploring the new bonus area is mandatory in this mode.
  • Includes level alterations and new achievements, bringing the total count to 77.

Improvements and Fixes:

  • Added "Controls and Guides" to the pause menu with switchable schemes for Mouse & Keyboard, Keyboard Only, or Gamepad.
  • Zombies now emit footstep sounds in all modes to aid stealth navigation.
  • Menu navigation sounds are now more responsive, indicating boundaries and page switches.
  • Added an audio cue when earning achievements during the story.
  • Fixed a long-standing bug where the inventory TTS would speak multiple lines simultaneously.
  • Remapped the "Read with NVDA" controller input to the X button (Xbox) or Square button (PlayStation) to prevent conflict with the "skip text" function.
  • Adjusted audio pitch for pickups in tunnel mode when located behind the player to match standard sonar behavior.
