Hello everyone! Today, I’m excited to share a article on how to type letters using VoiceOver. Let’s dive in and explore the steps together.

1. Locate a Text Field

Start by finding any area where you can type letters, commonly referred to as a "text field." This is where you’ll enter your text.

2. Understanding the Edit Box

Before typing, it’s important to understand how the edit box works. VoiceOver will announce the "insertion point," which can either be at the start or the end of the text box:

  • The start refers to the beginning of the text box.
  • The end indicates the last character in the text box.

You can easily navigate to the beginning or end of the text by double-tapping. VoiceOver will announce the current position of the insertion point.

3. Start Typing

Begin typing on the keyboard. Here are some tips to make typing more efficient:

  • When typing a letter or number, swipe up or down to access hidden symbols or alternative characters. For example, when selecting the letter "O," swiping may reveal numbers or symbols associated with it.
  • This trick isn’t limited to letters and numbers; symbols also offer similar options. Explore these to see what’s available.

Note: Not all devices may support this feature, so give it a try and see if it works on your device.

4. Access Hidden Letters and Symbols

To find hidden letters or symbols, long-press a key on the keyboard and then swipe around the screen to discover additional options. This feature allows for greater flexibility while typing.

5. Deleting Letters and Words

If you need to delete text, follow these steps:

  • Use the VoiceOver rotor: Swipe left or right with two fingers in the same direction to navigate through lines, words, or characters.
  • Once you’ve selected the desired navigation mode, swipe up or down to locate the text you want to delete.
  • For example, if you want to delete a specific word like "EE" in "Hello EE everyone," navigate by word or character until you reach "EE."
  • After selecting the text, use the delete key to remove it without affecting the rest of your text.

6. Unlock Hidden Features

Double-tap and hold on the edit box to access hidden features. Once you release your hold, swipe right to explore options like:

  • Cutting a portion of text.
  • Pasting previously copied text.
  • Additional features to enhance your editing experience.

I hope this article proves helpful and makes typing with VoiceOver easier for you. Happy typing!
