Wicked Quest

Welcome to Wicked Quest, an audio-based side-scrolling adventure game designed to be fully accessible for blind players. You take control of a skeleton, recently reassembled by a foolish mortal, ready to wander around spreading chaos and destruction. However, before you can plague the living, you first need to fight your way past the dead and escape the mausoleum.

This game relies entirely on sound and speech cues for navigation and combat. You will traverse spooky, atmospheric levels using immersive positional audio to guide your movements. The gameplay involves battling enemies, avoiding environmental hazards like spider webs and catapults, and discovering secrets. To defend yourself, you'll start with a rusty shovel but can find other weapons, as well as use throwable items like Jack O'lanterns for ranged attacks.

The world of Wicked Quest is populated by multiple enemies with unique behaviors. You'll face goblins, chasing ghouls, powerful revenants that spawn zombies, and ghosts that can only be hit when they become corporeal. To survive, you must collect bone dust, which acts as currency and helps restore health and gain extra lives. The game features full keyboard accessibility with multiple layouts and saves your progress automatically as you collect enough bone dust.
