Now, this classic game is fully accessible to blind and low-vision players thanks to the "Toby Accessibility Mod," a community project by Team Toby. This mod transforms the game into a fully playable experience using sound-based navigation, narration, and specially designed maps.

The Toby Accessibility Mod is a comprehensive package that includes several campaigns and components:

• Toby Doom: A 40-level campaign with blind-player-friendly layouts, a tutorial, and a combat sandbox.
• Toby’s Death Arena: A 10-level deathmatch pack for fighting bots or friends.
• Toby Heretic & Toby Hexen: The mod also adapts the fantasy-themed Doom "cousins," Heretic (9 levels, magical weapons) and Hexen (11 levels, hub-based, class system), making them fully accessible with the same sound-based navigation.

The accessibility features include directional audio cues to locate enemies, items, and doors, narrated guidance, and simplified level geometry to make navigation intuitive. Players can also load the mod alongside the original Doom levels if they prefer the classic campaign.
