Audio Fishing Simulator is a semi-realistic fishing game designed specifically for blind players. With no graphics or text to rely on, the game is played entirely using sound cues and keyboard inputs. It offers a deeply immersive experience where you must use your hearing to master the art of angling across various UK-based locations.
The game features two distinct modes: the Standard Game, where you start with basic equipment and limited venues, earning experience to level up and unlock better gear; and the Sandbox Game, which gives you immediate access to all high-end equipment and locations. You can fish at 10 different venues based on real-world places, targeting 25 different species of fish ranging from the common Roach to the powerful Pike and elusive Catfish.
Gameplay goes beyond simple casting. You must manage your tackle setup, choose from a wide variety of baits (like maggots, sweetcorn, or artificial lures), and master the mechanics of the catch. When a fish bites, you must strike at the right moment and carefully manage line tension while reeling in. Sound indicators tell you if the line is too tight or too loose. You can adjust your rod angle and reel drag to tire out the fish without snapping your line.
