About RightHear

RightHear is a virtual accessibility assistant designed to help users easily orient themselves in new or familiar environments. Its mission is to empower people who are blind, experience sight loss, or face orientation challenges by enabling them to navigate independently, anywhere and anytime.

Main Features and Modes

Outdoor Mode

  • Current Location: Instantly get your current outdoor physical location.
  • Around Me: Discover nearby outdoor points of interest by simply turning your phone in different directions (powered by Open Street Map).
  • Nearby: View lists of RightHear-enabled locations and other points of interest around you.
  • Record: Create personal points of interest, navigate to them, or receive notifications when you’re nearby.
  • Lens: Use object recognition tools to assist with daily needs.
  • Direction: Determine the direction in which you are walking.

Indoor Mode

(Available only in RightHear-enabled locations)

  • Current Location: Get your indoor physical location within the building.
  • Around Me: Explore nearby indoor points of interest by turning your phone in various directions.
  • Nearby: Access a list of RightHear spots located inside the building you’re in.
  • Call: Directly contact a local representative for assistance.
  • Link: Access additional information via a web page.
  • Lens: Use object recognition tools to assist with your daily tasks.
  • Direction: Understand the direction you are heading indoors.

Demo Mode

Simulate a RightHear-enabled location and explore its internal navigation points.

Public Transportation

  • Get a nearby list of public transportation stations, lines, and expected departure times.
